Roger Evans Associates were commissioned by East Herts District Council and Government Office for the East of England (Go East) to identify principles for a sustainable and sensitively designed extension to Bishop’s Stortford. The study employed a ‘whole town’ approach, looking at the overall structure of the town and its relationship to the identified land. It recommended a development framework for the site identifying a range of inter-dependent strategies - neighbourhood, locational, landscape and open space, movement, employment and residential.
