An innovative new neighbourhood in a vibrant market town is the generating idea behind the recent planning application for Eastern Leighton Linslade submitted to South Bedfordshire District Council, on behalf of clients Arnold White Estates and Willis Dawson Holdings.
The proposals integrate town and landscape to provide a mixed-use district centre with key community facilities, employment areas, schools and 4,400 dwellings connected by a central avenue and set within a robust framework of green infrastructure including parks and recreation grounds.
The consultant team responsible for the scheme includes Roger Evans Associates Ltd responsible for masterplanning, urban design and landscape and visual assessment; Hives Planning Ltd, acting as planning advisors, project managers and coordinators of the Environmental Statement; Stuart Michael Associates consulting engineers who led on transport planning and assessment and flood risk assessment.
